REFRACTION
The method for becoming invisible that I will describe is based on the principles of light refraction and the manipulation of the human body's refractive index.
Step 1: Creating a Refractive Index Matching Liquid
The first step in this process is to create a liquid with a refractive index that matches that of the human body. This liquid can be made by mixing together water, glycerol, and a special polymer. The exact ratios of these ingredients must be carefully calculated to achieve a refractive index match.
Step 2: Immersing the Body in the Liquid
The next step is to immerse the entire body in the liquid, making sure that every part of the body, including the eyes, is covered. This process can be done in a specialized tank that has been designed to hold the liquid and the person being immersed.
Step 3: Wearing a Refractive Index Matching Suit
Once the body has been fully immersed, the person must wear a special suit that has been coated with the same refractive index matching liquid. This suit must be airtight to ensure that the liquid does not evaporate and to prevent any air pockets from forming between the suit and the body.
Step 4: Illumination with Infrared Light
Finally, the person must be illuminated with a specific wavelength of infrared light. This light must be carefully selected to ensure that it is absorbed by the liquid and not reflected back to the observer. The result is that the person will become invisible to the naked eye, as light will pass through the body and the suit as if they were not there.
It is important to note that this process is not perfect and has some limitations. For example, the person will still cast a shadow, and objects behind them may be distorted. Additionally, the person must remain still while they are invisible, as any movement will cause the liquid to ripple and the refractive index to change, causing the person to become visible once again.
